The VNDREAM consortium is a network of excellence of established Visegrad countries’ universities with the aim to spur co-operation and the exchange of best practices in the academic fields of international relations and European studies as seen in the perspective of Visegrad region. It is a joint initiative of:
- the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Faculty of International and Political Studies (project coordinator),
- the Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica, Faculty of Political Science and International Relations,
- University of Pecs, Faculty of Humanities and
- Masaryk University, Faculty of Social Science.
VNDREAM has been generously supported by the International Visegrad Fund Standard Grant in 2012 and has been awarded the VUSG – Joint Degree Programmes Grant in June 2013 – the first grant of its kind awarded by the International Visegrad Fund. In implementing these grants, the VNDREAM consortium established the joint Master of Arts in International Relations: Europe in the Visegrad Perspective.
The legal foundation for delivery of this joint programme was set up in the consortium agreement of 1 October 2012 and it was further amended by the consortium agreement of April 2013 establishing a joint procedure for delivery of a joint degree in international relations – Europe from the Visegrad perspective. The programme sets a new modality of academic cooperation in the Visegrad region based on idea of common education area. The unique scope and structure of the programme is a vanguard form of educational co-operation in the Visegrad region. It follows along the premises of the Bologna process establishing in Europe a common higher education area based on exchange of good practices in teaching methods, faculty and student mobility and recognition of professional qualifications. It is the first joint degree programme in social science in Visegrad region.
